Perception of Emotion - 2022 - 3D Animation - Not For Sale

Artist's Statement

This piece revolves around emotion and how it can be expressed through different abstract animations. In this series I’ve created different abstract environments that encompass the emotions of misery, euphoria, sorrow, and exhilaration. Each of these animations are a representation of how I visualize these emotions in my head. My inspiration for this piece stems from my passion for sound and the effect it has on my mood. When I am working with audio I often visualize the sounds I am hearing in weird and abstract ways, but have never captured those visualizations and brought them to life.

My goal for this piece is to be able to show what I “see” in my head and express the way they make me feel. By manipulating factors such as color, lighting, sound, and timing, the overall tone of each animation changes. While using a different combination of these factors I want to immerse the viewer into each environment and allow them to relate and feel the emotions in each piece similar to the way that I do.
