Artist's Statement

The Delusion project highlights the negative effects social media has on body image, and targets social media companies for their deceptive role in body image issues. My personal struggle with social media and body image issues drives the inspiration for Delusion. Eating disorders are a serious result from toxic social media that impacts severe physical and mental effects in the mind and body. Additionally, research on the effects of social media demonstrates the significant increase of body dysmorphia and other body image issues. Delusion serves as a word of caution on the effects its presence has on body image.
