David Hainline earned his bachelor’s degree in radio, television and film from Bowling Green State University in 1983. Hainline began his career in Washington, D.C., serving in various sales and management leadership roles for broadcasting giants including Viacom, Emmis Broadcasting and ABC/Cap Cities. He was the national sales manager for Infinity CBS, the top-ranked revenue-generating radio station, where he sold and managed all national accounts, totaling more than $12 million.
Hainline is CEO of CSI-DMC, an award-winning special event and meeting planning company founded by his late wife and business partner. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., CSI-DMC has grown significantly under Hainline’s leadership. The company now has 11 regional offices across the country and manages more than 1,000 events annually. In 2018, the company launched CSI International, serving clients around the world.
Hainline oversees all aspects of company operations, marketing and sales strategies. He personally manages relationships with clients, including the Presidential Inaugural Committee, AIG Global Investment Company, Mercer Consulting, Pfizer and The Korean Peace Festival. Hainline also serves as a mentor and coach to CSI-DMC’s team of more than 100 employees.
Hainline has instituted several scholarships and internships to benefit BGSU students in a variety of programs, including entrepreneurship; communications; tourism, leisure and event planning; and marketing. Through a unique partnership with the University, Hainline has also developed an event management and entrepreneurship course to explore the components of managing large events. CSI-DMC professionals, including Hainline, travel to campus to present weekly course curriculum and meet with students during office hours for career development coaching. Hainline was a recipient of the 2006 Accomplished Graduate Award for the College of Arts and Sciences and has served on the Alumni Board.
