Prior to restructuring at Confluent Health, his PT Development LLC equity fund included holdings in US Worldmeds, Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions and physicaltherapist.com amongst many others.

From 1987 to Sept 2007, he founded and served as President/CEO of Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team (KORT), a private practice outpatient physical therapy company. 

From 1984 through 1989, he served in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Army Medical Specialists Corps where he received the Meritorious Service Medal.

A frequent lecturer with over 200 invited presentations at multiple conferences, physical therapy, MBA and Executive Education programs throughout the country, Dr. Benz has served on the American Physical Therapy Association's Advisory Panel on Practice, American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and two public companies. 

He is currently Board Chairman at The University of Louisville and a Trustee for the Foundation of Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Business Alliance, Neighborhood Engagement and The University of Louisville Medical Center. He is the recipient of numerous business, leadership and physical therapy awards.

Dr. Benz received his undergraduate education at Bowling Green State University, Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Baylor University, MBA from The Ohio State University, a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions and MA in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Laurence (Larry) Benz is the President and CEO of Confluent Health, a private physical therapy company with related businesses in education and occupational medicine. Amongst the holdings of Confluent Health include Texas Physical Therapy Specialists, Fit For Work LLC, ProRehab, Evidence In Motion, Dunn Physical Therapy, Breakthrough Physical Therapy, PT Central of Oklahoma, Groves WorkReady, ProRehab Louisville and International Spine and Pain Institute.
