Project Benefits & Costs
Noyce Recipients will receive a stipend of approximately $20,000 for:
- Registration, tuition and tees for all 14 courses
- Assistance with rent, food, transportation ($8,965.00)
- $500 toward attending a professional education conference of your choosing
- Books and materials
- GoReact immersive video learning
- Virtual simulation field experiences with Mursion
- BCI/FBI Background Check
- A personalized BGSU Faculty STEM Instructional Mentor (one for each Science and Math)
- Encouraged optional attendance at the Midwest Annual Noyce Scholarship Program Conference (October)
- Encouraged optional participation in Math Camps, CFE Conferences and other BGSU campus activities
Out of Pocket costs for Noyce Recipients of approximately $965.00 for:
- Required Application for Ohio Department of Education & Work Force’s Evaluation Request Application.
- Required cost of Ohio’s IPTI (Intensive Pedagogical Training Institute) 12 credit hours online
- Required State Examination of Content/Discipline Area (Ohio Assessment for Educators Exam)
- Required State Examination of Teaching Pedagogy
- Required State of Ohio Teaching Permit
RESULTS Program Benefits
Financial support and specialized programming will prepare our Noyce Recipients to become excellent and equitable STEM educators, with particular attention to best practices associated with successful teaching in high-need districts.
- Stipends:
- A stipend for tuition, fees and living expenses award of approximately $20,000 goes to each the eight Noyce recipients. This is an online program, one does not need to live in Bowling Green. Stipend levels have been established based on the BGSU’s Financial Aid office’s projections.
- Special Coursework and Programming:
- Specially focused courses, additional learning opportunities, rich field experiences, attendance at a professional conference will help provide RESULTS recipients with necessary training and experience to be an effective new teacher.
- Individual mentoring from a BGSU Faculty STEM Instructional Mentor:
- Individual support from a STEM Mentor Teacher at our partner school district, Washington Local Schools:
- Each Noyce Recipient will have a practicing STEM teacher from Washington Local Schools. These teachers will open their classrooms providing the opportunity to work and learn with a teacher from their discipline. Additionally, the local STEM Teacher will provide one-on-one check in meetings each semester to allow the RESULTS recipients to receive feedback, support and mentoring from the current school teachers. This will continue during the RESULTS graduates first year of teaching.
- Professional Learning Community:
- Noyce Recipients will develop relationships and have opportunities to network with other professionals in the field of education to provide support throughout their educational experience and early teaching career.
