Mental Health & Wellbeing in Ohio Schools: Communication & Connection for Safer Schools (C2S2) is a three year, $1,853,070 grant from United States Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Preventing School Violence: BJA's STOP School Violence Program. The goal of C2S2 is to reduce violence in Ohio schools. We will accomplish this by provided mental health & wellbeing awareness training in local school districts.
Project Objectives:
- Establish, develop, and strengthen partnerships between Bowling Green State University and Ohio school districts focused on supporting mental health and wellbeing in schools.
- Establish, develop, and strengthen partnerships between Bowling Green State University and community partners, including parents and families focused on supporting mental health and wellbeing in youth.
- Prevent school violence through a special focus on training school personnel to respond to mental health crises.
- Meet the needs of rural and/or high-poverty school districts in Ohio, which represent traditionally underserved and/or marginalized students, to provide training on mental health awareness and response, stress reduction, and healthy communication and connection in schools.
