How To Apply

To be considered for one of the stipends and all RESULTS opportunities, eligible individuals should complete the online application.

Additionally, the following items need to be emailed to the Project Manager, Jenna Pollock, or Principal Investigator, Dr. Angela Thomas at noyce@bgsu.edu.

  • Personal Statement: A personal statement essay of approximately 500 words that describes your desire to teach in a high-needs school. This statement should provide specific examples of relevant leadership, teamwork, and mentoring experiences, and specifically addresses the following:
    • (a) why you decided to pursue a teaching career in your chosen STEM area; 
    • (b) why you believe you will be a good STEM educator; and 
    • (c) what motivates you to want to teach in a high-need school. 
  • Unofficial Transcript: An unofficial transcript from your current or most recent college/university. 
  • Two Letters of Recommendation: From a professor, an educational/STEM-related professional or someone who can attest to your academic background, leadership and potential to teach math/science in a high-needs school.

After your application and documentation are received, Jenna or Angela will reach out to schedule your interview with the members of the RESULTS scholarship selection committee.

Selection Criteria 

Noyce Recipients will be selected based on their:

  • GPA and academic background
  • Content and quality of the essay, letters of recommendation and interview performance
  • Financial need
  • Potential to increase STEM diversity in the teaching profession

Application Deadline

Review of applications will begin on June 1st and will continue until all scholarships are awarded.
