BGSU to hold commencement Friday, Saturday Dec 8, 2017 2:26 PM BGSU will celebrate its 290th graduation in two ceremonies in the Stroh Center Friday (Dec. 15) and Saturday (Dec. 16). The December graduating class includes 954 candidates. Among the undergraduates, 56 will be presented associate degrees and 682 bachelor’s degrees. Of those, 142 have received honors for their high grade point averages.

More than 1,600 videographers applied, and he was one of the few chosen for what essentially was a three-month tryout to assist one of NFL Films’ best cameramen for the 2017 NFL season.

Mruk named fellow of American Psychological Association Oct 20, 2017 2:34 PM Professor of Teaching Excellence Dr. Christopher Mruk, professor of psychology at BGSU Firelands College, was granted the status of fellow by the American Psychological Association (APA) this summer in its Humanistic Psychology division. Fellows are nominated by peers in the organization and must pass review by the APA Fellows Committee.

Class of 2016 Success Stories: A Life of caring Aug 8, 2016 7:00 AM BGSU Firelands associate degree candidate Laura Bates spent the majority of her early life caring for ailing parents. Her fulfilling experiences in caring for others led her to the field of radiologic technology. Earning her degree in August, she will pursue a career in the lucrative field of radiation therapy.

Falcons flock to BGSU Firelands for Campus Family Campaign Jun 23, 2016 2:00 PM BGSU Firelands employees have increased participation and the amount raised in the Campus Campaign through “Firelands Falcon Flockings,” in which employees donated to the Campus Campaign in $10 increments to “flock” other offices with Falcon heads and other bird-related balloons and materials.

Fifteen faculty receive emeritus status May 18, 2016 2:45 PM The Board of Trustees granted emeritus status to 15 retired or retiring faculty members on May 6. Emeritus status is conferred in recognition of distinguished service to the University. Individuals must have been at the University for at least 10 years and been recommended by their department for the designation.

BGSU celebrates 285th graduation May 7, 2016 4:02 PM Bowling Green State University held its 285th commencement this past weekend, with more than 2,200 candidates in the graduating class. Commencement included the presentation of an honorary degree and addresses from alumni.

Faculty climb academic ladder with tenure, promotion May 6, 2016 4:02 PM The BGSU Board of Trustees acknowledged and celebrated the accomplishments of faculty from a number of colleges May 6 with the granting of promotions and for some, tenure. Thirteen were promoted to full professor, 15 received promotion to associate professor with tenure.

BGSU to hold commencement Friday, Saturday May 2, 2016 12:00 AM The University will celebrate its 285th graduation in three ceremonies in the Stroh Center Friday (May 6) and Saturday (May 7). The graduating class includes 2,287 candidates. Speaking will be alumni Maribeth Rahe, Dean Bresciani, Holly Horn, Jason “Jay” Crawford, and D. Craig Rathbun.

She has changed the campus climate to one that fosters student engagement, diversity and inclusion, say her nominators.

BGSU recognizes 2018 10 Under 10 honorees From basketball coaches and photographers, to environmentalists and advocates, leaders and visionaries, risk takers and dreamers, recent Falcon alumni are changing lives for the world. To honor the accomplishments of our recent alumni, the BGSU 10 Under 10 Award was established. The 2018 class was honored during Homecoming Oct. 12.

BGSU supports local agencies BGSU campuses in Huron and Bowling Green, as well as BGSU at Levis Commons, are supporting local health and safety agencies by donating PPE supplies and providing facilities to organizations in both communities.

BGSU to hold commencement Dec. 13, 14 Bowling Green State University will celebrate its 296th graduation in two ceremonies at the Stroh Center Dec. 13 and Dec. 14. Alumnae addressing the candidates include Sheryl Maxfield ’81 and Laurie Stevenson ’88, who are both members of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s Cabinet. The December graduating class includes 1,047 candidates.
