Transfer students choose BGSU
More than 1,000 transfer students are continuing their academic careers with Bowling Green State University. Here from a few transfer students about why they chose BGSU.
Treron Fullerton
Hometown: Cleveland
Transferring from: Virginia Union University
Major/Minor: I am majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Recording Technology.
Is this your first time to campus: I’ve been here before for sports and workouts; I’m working to be on the football team.
Why BGSU: Sports – my high school coach recommended the University – and its reputation for academics. Not many schools have my major or minor and I can do both here.
Do you know anyone here: I do, and it will be nice knowing people, but I’m not afraid to meet new people.
Are you living on campus: Yes, but I don’t know which residence hall yet. I like that everything is going to be so close.
What do you want to do after graduation: Become a personal trainer first in the Cleveland area and then I’ll probably move. I’m really into making music and helping other people make music, so engineering or producing would be great, too.
Caitlin Grose
Hometown: Toronto, Ohio
Transferring from: Eastern Gateway Community College
Major/Minor: I am majoring in Psychology.
Is this your first time to campus: I’ve been here before to visit my sister, but seeing it as a student is exciting. It’s bigger than I expected.
Why BGSU: I liked the vibe it gave off. I wanted to be at a bigger school and BGSU is the perfect mix of far away, but not too far away.
What are you most looking forward to: Classes and outside activities; I want to get involved.
Are you living on campus: Yes, I’ll be in Offenhauer. I really wanted to live in the residence hall setting and be on my own.
What do you want to do after graduation: I want to work in a hospital in the abnormal side of psychology.
Haley Vazquez
Hometown: Lorain
Transferring from: Lorain County Community College
Major/Minor: I am majoring in Respiratory Care at BGSU Firelands.
Is this your first time to campus: Yes, everyone has been really nice and helpful.
Why BGSU: I did the Rising Stars internship at Mercy Health Lorain in respiratory care and loved it. This is what I was meant to do; I just want to help people. The program between BGSU and LCCC was a perfect fit.
What are you most looking forward to: Gaining more knowledge; I’m excited to be in the program.
What do you want to do after graduation: I want to work at Mercy Health in Lorain and maybe come back here for my bachelor’s degree.
