Students make learning fun at STEM in the Park
More than 5,000 children and adults attended the 8th annual STEM in the Park (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Four of our undergraduate students worked at the event and helped with the display.

Four students present research at BGSU Undergraduate Symposium for Research and Scholarship
Undergraduate students Morgan Corns, Anya Kaiser, Elizabeth Kovert, & Jocelyn Mineo presented their research at the BGSU Undergraduate Symposium for Research and Scholarship Saturday, April 22. Undergraduates who have conducted a research, scholarly, or creative project with a faculty mentor in any discipline were invited to present their findings at the symposium. The Center for Under-graduate Research and Scholarship (CURS) and the Northwest Ohio Center for Excellence in STEM Education (NWO) hosted the event.
Eight new members inducted into AKD
Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD), the International Sociology Honor Society, inducted seven undergraduate students and one graduate student during the spring 2017 ceremony. AKD President Michele-Kozimor-King provided the keynote address. The purpose of AKD is to acknowledge excellence in teaching, research, and study of sociology.
BGSU alumna studying active shooter responses
“This study carries great importance, as it is can have life or death consequences,” Jonson said. “When you ask people to what to do if they find themselves in a fire, they can rattle off rather quickly things like evacuate the building, get low to the ground, or stop, drop and roll. However, when you ask individuals what to do if they are in an active shooting event, they often freeze and cannot come up with an answer."
