Mellencamp receives Distinguished Thesis Award

Congratulations to Kagan Mellencamp on his receipt of the 2020 Graduate College Distinguished Thesis Award for his thesis, Depressive Symptoms Trajectories Following Child Death in Later Life: Variation by Race-Ethnicity." His thesis will be submitted to the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award competition as the nominee for Bowling Green State University in their Social Sciences category. It is expected that the decision for the MAGS competition will be announced in Spring 2021. Professor I-Fen Lin is his thesis advisor. Way to go, Kagan!

Six students received graduate degrees
graduates sociology summer 2020Congratulations to our summer graduates! The Sociology Graduate Commencement ceremony was held via WebEx on Thursday August 13. Faculty and staff celebrated the accomplishments of four PhD students: Mitch Gresham, Paul Hemez, Elizabeth Howe-Huist, and Marissa Landeis; and two MA students: Ian King and Alyssa Vielee.
2018 graduate received Distinguished Dissertation Award
marshal fettro thesis award fbCongratulations to Marshal Fettro who received the 2020 Graduate College Distinguished Dissertation Award for his dissertation, Men’s and Women’s Time Use: Comparing Same-Sex and Different-Sex Couples. His dissertation will be submitted to the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) Distinguished Dissertation Award competition as the nominee for Bowling Green State University in the Social Sciences category. His advisor was Professor Kei Nomaguchi. Way to go, Marshal!
