Thanksgiving 2019

From the Thanksgiving holiday has sprung two recent trends: “Blackout Wednesday” and “Danksgiving.” These trends highlight — and even encourage — the heavy consumption of alcohol and marijuana throughout the long holiday weekend. Impaired driving of any kind — whether drugged or drunk — is dangerous and illegal in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, DC. Whether the drug is legally prescribed or illegal, drug-impaired driving poses a threat to the driver, vehicle passengers, and other road users.
 
On “Blackout Wednesday,” remember that Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving, and If You Feel Different, You Drive Different. It doesn’t matter what term you use: If a person is feeling a little high, buzzed, stoned, wasted, or drunk, they are impaired and should never get behind the wheel.
 
Your goal is to get to grandma’s house safe and sound!  Let’s take every effort to ensure that our friends and family have a safe ride to and from their Thanksgiving festivities.  By working together, we can save lives and help keep America’s roadways safe. Please join us in sharing the lifesaving message Buzzed Driving Is Drunk Driving, and use the hash-tag #BoycottBlackoutWednesday during the holiday weekend. Let's strive for zero fatal crashes in 2020!
