Employee Appreciation and Recognition
Employee Recognition at BGSU
The Office of Human Resources strives to foster a culture of appreciation and recognition for our employees. Every day is an opportunity to recognize a colleague, supervisor, direct report, or co-worker for their contributions to the University. We know how easy it is to get focused on the tasks at hand – the emails, the meetings, the projects, and to-do lists – and forget to say, “Thank you!” or “Well done!” It is often those simple, timely gestures that have a profound impact on the attitude, productivity, and feelings of belonging of our employees.
Individual and team achievements can be celebrated every day through informal, timely recognition of a job well done either by supervisors, peers, or both! Taking time to applaud valuable contributions builds community and stronger teams. Recognition that comes from a supervisor, peer, co-worker, direct report, or department head are all important. When staff demonstrate excellence, integrity, innovation, diversity, and respect, it’s time to congratulate them on a job well done!
