New Employee Information
Welcome to Bowling Green State University! As a new Falcon, you have been invited to attend new hire orientation. To begin your onboarding process, please complete the forms in the related documents section on this page. In addition, the I-9 form is required to be completed by your first day of employment. The required documents per federal guidelines must be verified by an authorized BGSU representative by your third day of employment.
If you are a new full-time employee, you will also be offered the opportunity to enroll for any insurance benefits that you are eligible for. Please review the benefit section for detailed plan, eligibility, and cost information. If you plan to enroll a spouse or dependent child(ren) for insurance benefits, you will also need to bring additional documentation types such as a marriage certificate, birth certificates/adoption paperwork, etc. as proof of dependency.
Reminder: Employee benefit plan enrollments have a deadline of 30 calendar days from your date of hire. Enrollment is completed online in the MyBGSU portal. Retirement plan enrollments have a deadline of 120 calendar days from your date of hire. Retirement elections are completed by submitting the Retirement Plan Election Form to Human Resources and are required by the state to have an original signature.
