Dr. Zubair Mohamed Selected as New Associate Dean
Dr. Zubair Mohamed, the new associate dean of BGSU’s College of Business, is trading one city of Bowling Green for another. Dr. Mohamed is joining BGSU as an associate dean on June 30, coming from Western Kentucky University located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Dr. Mohamed will be a tenured Full Professor in the management department and his duties will include oversight of undergraduate programs, including undergraduate assurance of learning and accreditation. He will also oversee the Business Career Accelerator, Undergraduate Student Development Office, and the Math-Stats Coaching Center, and will work with Dean Ray Braun and the College’s communication manager to oversee the Student Ambassadors, the CBA Rewards Point Program, and the Peer Leadership Program.
While at Western Kentucky, Dr. Mohamed was designated a University Distinguished Professor and served as chair of the management department as well as interim director of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Dr. Mohamed also served as an interim associate dean at Western Kentucky for one year and played an important role in developing academic programs in entrepreneurship and international business, and cultivated education abroad partnerships with other universities.
He earned a doctorate degree in business administration from the University of Kentucky, majoring in production and operations management and minoring in information systems, and has published extensively.
Dr. John Hoag, the College’s current senior associate dean and Professor Emeritus in Economics, leaves BGSU after 42 years of service. We wish to thank him for his many years of leadership and devoted teaching and welcome Dr. Mohamed to the College!
