New Recruiting Center Assists Employers with Interviewing Students

Because of feedback from employers, the College of Business and the Business Career Accelerator have created a convenient and comfortable location for employers to interview our students for jobs year-round. Located on the fourth floor of the Business Administration Building, the new Career Accelerator Recruiting Center accommodates recruiters in four separate interview suites, and has an employer lounge and a reception area.  The layout of the interview suites can be either a formal office setting or a more casual seating arrangement.


The process for interviewing at the Recruiting Center has been made as easy as possible.  According to the associate director of the Business Career Accelerator, Tom Siebenaler, "From the time the employer contacts our office to schedule an interview, until they’re leaving the building the day of, we take care of everything.  Employers schedule online, we then process their request, send them a final interview schedule via email when complete (including parking pass, wireless internet access information, and any other needs they have). All they have left to do is arrive, interview and make their selections.  We provide a heightened level of personalized customer-service to our CBA partners. This will increase employer traffic to campus and job opportunities for our students.”

Siebenaler adds, “We plan on advertising this new facility to all of our College of Business employers that this center is operated by their schedule, not ours, and is available year-round, not just during the two EXPOs each year.”  Many employers recruit year-round and have situations arise where they need a group of students to interview quickly.  “Business never sleeps, and now, neither does this resource that’s available at their request.”

Already this Recruiting Center has received praise by employers.

The Business Career Accelerator office has been very busy assisting students since its inception.  Approximately 73% of the business students have interacted with Career Accelerator staff.  Ninety-one students are completing an internship or co-op this spring and the Career Accelerator staff contacted 415 individual employers regarding summer 2014 internship opportunities. Students are strongly encouraged to visit the Business Career Accelerator in room 264, the Business Administration Building, for job placement opportunities and career exploration.
