Finance Team Selected as Finalist in National Plan Competition

Congratulations go to a BGSU student team advancing to the finals of the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC) National Plan Competition. Dana Kaufman, Liz Kevorkian, and Becca Smoody presented their comprehensive personal financial plan based on uniform sample data given by IARFC. They are one of three teams selected to compete at the national level in Las Vegas at the end of March.

Teams competing in the semi-final round presented via Webcam and were judged on professionalism, teamwork, understanding of the client’s needs, presentation and restatement of the issues, recommendations and ability to defend their position.  BGSU had a second team of students qualify for the semi-final round that included Tyler Beck, Brett Mohler, and Christian Piazza.

Both BGSU teams are coached by finance instructor Matthew Garrow.  We wish our team luck at the national competition.
