Interactive Activities Highlighted a Successful College of Business Day

Approximately 100 students and their families traveled from around the state as well as New Jersey and Toronto, Canada, to attend the fifth annual College of Business Day on BGSU’s campus.   Guests were greeted by Interim Director of BGSU’s Admissions Office, Cecilia Castellano.  The Dean of the College of Business, Raymond Braun, provided an overview of the various opportunities in the College, encouraging students to “come prepared and be engaged” when arriving on campus for their first semester.

Attendees then were able to choose from several interactive activities, including a student panel discussing their insights into the College, a mock lecture on economics by department Chair Dr. Mary Ellen Benedict, education abroad information sessions, a Meet the Dean, and a visit to the Business Career Accelerator office.  Prospective students also met faculty from every specialization and talked with representatives from each of the college’s student organizations.  The day also included lunch and campus tours.

Susan Kosakowski, undergraduate recruiting coordinator for the College, was very pleased with the attendance and the engagement of all the visitors.  “It was great to watch the prospective student interactions and, this year, we had a record number of students making housing deposits – a very good indicator of a student’s intention to attend BGSU.  Students, faculty, and staff did an excellent job of highlighting the advantages of a business degree from BGSU!”
