17th Annual Northwest Ohio Community Art Exhibition

BGSU Art Galleries hosts the 17^th Annual Northwest Ohio (Now OH) Community Art Exhibition. Now OH celebrates the talents of regional artists in a professional setting. Artists who display their work at the exhibition are eligible to win up to $2,000 in cash prizes and gift certificates. The awards include a Best of Show Award, a Young Artist Award, and a People’s Choice Award.

Eligibility

Entrants from the following counties are eligible to participate in the NowOH Show: Defiance, Erie, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Sandusky, Seneca, Williams, Wood

Media Requirements

You may submit 1 original piece that was completed in the past 2 years. All work that meets show rules will be exhibited. Artists of all skill levels and experience are encouraged to participate. Accepted media includes: Ceramics/Design/Digital Imaging/Drawing/Fibers/Glass/Jewelry/Mixed Media/Painting/Photography/Printmaking/Sculpture

No installations, time-based productions, kits, or commercial work will be accepted. Each piece may not exceed 5 feet in length or width, 6 feet in height, or weigh more than 150 pounds. Works on paper must be framed under glass or acrylic. Wood frames must have inside mounted screw eyes with sturdy wire securely attached. Metal frames must have wire attached to hangers on each side of the back of the frame. Tape must be placed around the edges of the wire. No saw-tooth hangers or single loops at top of frame.

16-18 years of age - $10.00
19 years of age or older - $20.00
Entry fee is non-refundable and must be paid at the time of application. After completing the online artist registration form, you will receive an email with payment instructions.

Important Dates

June 3-July 5 | ONLINE ENTRY
July 12 | 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. | ARTWORK DROPOFF
All artwork must be dropped of at this time. Artwork must be ready to hang. All artwork must have a frame or hanging system provided by the artist.
July 19 | JURYING
July 23 | 6 p.m. | OPENING RECEPTION

Conditions and Liability

Bowling Green State University, NowOH, BGSU Fine Arts Center Galleries and its affiliates, herinafter referred to as "The Gallery" together make the following conditions applicable for all artists entering work into the Now OH Art Show:

1. The Gallery reserves the right to photograph exhibited artwork for publicity purposes.
2. All art must remain in the exhibition throughout the designated show schedule.
3. A Gallery commission of 30% will be deducted from the stated price on all sales.
4. The Gallery reserves the right to reject work that is too fragile, oversized, or does not meet conditions of eligibility.
5. The Gallery does not assume responsibility for loss or damage of submitted works during or after the exhibition.
6. The Gallery reserves the right to make all final decisions regarding eligibility of the work.

Sales

A 30% commisson will be deducted from the stated sales price of any work sold during the exhibition. Sold pieces will be released to the buyer following the close of the exhibition and signature on the bill of sale. Work may not be removed prior to the closing of the show.
