John Templeton Foundation

For many years, the John Templeton Foundation has served as "a philanthropic catalyst for discoveries relating to the Big Questions of human purpose and ultimate reality." The vision of the Foundation grows out of the late Sir John Templeton's deep interest in developing "new spiritual information" and "breakthrough discoveries" through rigorous scientific study. This vision is encapsulated in the motto of the Foundation, "How little we know, how eager to learn." 

The John Templeton Foundation has supported scientific research and scholarship on a wide array of topics, including forgiveness, love, gratitude, creativity, spiritual transformation, evolution, and infinity. In addition, it promotes knowledge and new insights through informed conversation among philosophers, theologians, scientists and the larger public. We are very grateful to the John Templeton Foundation for its generous support of our Transition to Parenthood Project, a pioneering intensive examination of the role of spirituality among couples as they move through the first year of family life.
