Robert Alexander

Dr. Robert Alexander is the founding director of the Democracy and Public Policy Research Network (DePo) at Bowling Green State University and the BGSU Poll Director. He previously served as the Wilfred E. Binkley Endowed Professor of Political Science at Ohio Northern University where he was Founding Director of the Institute for Civics and Public Policy. Alexander is the author of four books, including Representation and the Electoral College, published by Oxford University Press.

Joshua Boston

Joshua Boston (PhD, WUSTL) is an associate professor of political science at Bowling Green State University. With expertise in judicial politics, law and society, and constitutional law, Prof. Boston studies topics including elite decision-making, identity and representation in the law, and public support for legal institutions. His research has been published in journals including Political Research Quarterly, Public Opinion Quarterly, PS: Political Science & Politics, and the Journal of Law and Courts.

David Jackson

David J. Jackson is a professor of political science at Bowling Green State University. His major research interest is the interactive relationship between politics and culture. He is the author of the book Entertainment and Politics: The Influence of Pop Culture on Young Adult Political Socialization, 2nd Revised Edition (Peter Lang Publishing, 2009), as well as scholarly articles in such journals as Political Research Quarterly, Polish American Studies, International Journal of Press/Politics, and Journal of Political Marketing. In 2007-2008 he was a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Łódź, Poland.

Nicole Kalaf-Hughes

Nicole Kalaf-Hughes is an associate professor of political science at Bowling Green State University. Her recent projects explore the role of race, ethnicity, and gender in representation, collaboration, and policymaking in the U.S Congress. Her work has appeared in journals including Politics, Groups, and Identities, Journal of Public Policy, Policy Studies Journal, Politics & Gender, and the Journal of Political Science Education. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis.

Melissa Miller

Dr. Melissa K. Miller is a professor of political science at Bowling Green State University. She brings expertise conducting survey research in the private and nonprofit sectors in both the U.S. and the U.K. to the BGSU Poll. An expert in American politics, voter behavior, and gender, Dr. Miller’s research can be found in Public Opinion Quarterly, Politics & Gender, Political Research Quarterly, and American Politics Research, among other scholarly journals. She frequently appears in the local, regional and national media with insights on campaigns and elections.
