Biographical Facts:
Joined the faculty in 2023
Postdoc, University of California – Santa Barbara (2020-2023)
Ph.D. Iowa State University (2014-2020)
B.A. University of Kansas (2009-2014
Research Interests:
The Peterson lab is interested in using light to modulate dynamic systems for applications in (bio)materials and medicine. We use joint computational and experimental approaches to design new photo-responsive organic compounds. Current research focuses are on the development of visible-light responsive water-compatible photoswitches and visible-light responsive dynamic covalent bonds and the implementation of those molecules in materials.
Topics of interest:
Dynamic covalent bonds, photoswitches, visible-light activation, drug delivery
