Tau Beta Sigma

Tau Beta Sigma is a national honorary band sorority for members of college and university bands. The sorority was founded in 1946 and the Alpha Xi chapter here at Bowling Green State University was founded on November 7, 1952.

Mission Statement

We provide exceptional service to collegiate bands and promote equality and diversity, including empowering women in the band profession. We cultivate leadership, educational achievement, music appreciation and community development.

Some of the ways in which the sisters give back to the bands are by setting up and tearing down chairs for University Band, Concert Band, and Wind Symphony rehearsals and concerts. Among various other service projects, we also help with the Annual Honors Band Clinic.

Currently there are 46 members in the Alpha Xi chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. The sisters all come from various majors ranging from Music Education to English to Biology and more.
