Dr. Killey (Dr. K) is an assistant professor in the Schmidthorst College of Business at Bowling Green State University (BGSU).  He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) holds a PhD in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University, a MTax from the University of Akron, as well as a B.S. and Macc from BGSU. His research interests include auditing, taxation, financial statement analysis, and forensic accounting. He has published articles in several leading accounting journals, and Dr. Killey’s research has been financed by grants from prominent professional organizations. Literary findings from his studies have also been extensively profiled in the literature.   

His professional experience includes leadership positions in government, corporations, and large public accounting firms where he engaged in forensic analysis, taxation, auditing, financial reporting, and business process consulting.

Dr. Killey’s teaching experience includes the instruction of both online and in-person undergraduate and graduate courses in the fields of taxation, forensic examination, auditing, financial reporting, managerial accounting, governmental accounting, and information systems. He is the recipient of the UM-Dearborn COB Teacher of the Year Award and the FAU Outstanding Faculty Award, amongst several other pedagogical distinctions.
