BGSU journalism majors launch careers in TV news as students, gaining valuable industry experience
Bowling Green State University senior Claire Mitchell has a coveted position in TV news often reserved for seasoned professionals. She anchors weekend morning newscasts for 13 Action News, the ABC affiliate in Toledo, and has done so since midway through her junior year, a nod to the caliber of education she has received at BGSU to qualify her for the role.
National Communication Association bestows Legacy Award upon Sandra Faulkner
Dr. Sandra Faulkner’s groundbreaking philosophies and instruction of poetic inquiry are recognized by the NCA’s Ethnography Division. She receives the Legacy Award, which honors scholars who are 20 years or more past their terminal degree and who have made a substantial contribution to ethnographic work in Communication Studies and beyond.
BGSU alumna lands dream job working on music tours, commits to helping others succeed
BGSU alumna Camryn Joyce '21 is living her childhood dream working on the production crew of a major music tour. Joyce attended the Vans Warped Tour in Columbus, Ohio, with her mom nearly every summer as a teenager. Those concert experiences are what Joyce said inspired her to pursue a degree in media production and studies at Bowling Green State University and have motivated her to follow her dream of working on a music tour.
