Student Achievements AY 2024-25

BGSU Architecture Student Team’s Proposal for the National Student Design and Build Competition Land Art: Celestial Architecture has been selected as one of the Top 10 Finalists. Students: Addison Carter, Cosmo Alexander, Kyra Kolmar, and Thomas Mandel. Faculty Advisor: Yong Huang
A Printing Industries Education Funds (PIEF) Scholarship, was awarded to Abigail Brown, VCT Major, $2,500 per semester, 2024-25.
Graphic Media Alliance’s Print Excellence Awards recognized 17 VCT undergraduate students for their outstanding projects. These were submitted by our VCT faculty for competition. Our students were selected from a rigorous judging process and were identified through Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in a large, regional competition. Many of the award winners were able to attend the ceremony in Ann Arbor
Sam Speweik (second-year undergraduate student majoring in Architecture and Environmental Design) submitted his work in late August for a BGSU CURS (Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship) grant awarded to him for Summer 2024. His research, entitled "The History and Rebirth of Toledo's Warehouse District: History's Role in Community Growth" will CTAAE Faculty & Student Achievements (September 2024 Announcement)

SBE students won the FIRST and SECOND place in the 2024 AIA Ohio Student Design Awards! They were competing with the 4 other NAAB accredited schools in Ohio - Miami, Cincinnati, Ohio State, and Kent.
