If your department or office is in need of a few quick edits, an entire website refresh, or maybe just want to learn more about accessibility, the web team is here to help. We have a team of talented and knowledgeable designers that can guide you in the right direction.

Adobe Experience Manager is BGSU's Web Content Management System (CMS), allowing users to edit, maintain, and control the content on their webpages. We have over 400 CMS users on campus and it is our goal to help educate and guide them to create user-friendly and accessible web pages.

If you want access to edit your BGSU webpages, you will need to take the in-person CMS training and the online accessibility training.

If you have any CMS questions feel free to submit a question to the web team using our Web Questions and Concerns Form. If you have any web edits, you will need to contact your communication manager so they can put the right person on the job.

Web Design Services

Website Redesign

If your department or office is looking for a refresh, we can help. All campus partners must request web jobs through the project request form. Below are some guidelines to help make the redesign process quicker and easier for everyone.

Same content, but a restructure of pages
- Our team will build a wireframe and suggest ways to improve the site, based on our expertise. We will then present it to your team in a meeting with your communications manager and work from there.

Different content, but same structure of pages
- We will need the content before we can start anything. Once provided the content, we will then make the changes and your communications manager will present the changes to you.

Different content and restructure of pages
- We need all of the new content before we can start anything. Then we will build a wireframe, present it in a meeting with you and your communications manager. We can then work on the agreed restructuring and plug in the new content. We will then present it to you with the communications manager in a meeting.

Web Edits

If there is no one in your office or department that has access to Adobe Experience Manager, BGSU's CMS system, then our office can make web edits for you. Please contact your communication manager for complex website changes or restructuring.

For any small edits, such as spelling corrections, feel free to submit a ticket directly to the web design team using our Web Questions and Concerns Form, if the ticket is complex, the web team will direct the ticket to your communication manager.

Website Analytics and Optimization

If your department or office is trying to understand your target audience better, but don't know where to start, the web team can gather analytics and statistics on your site. This data can help you determine what content your audience views and utilizes the most so that you can make well-informed decisions.

We also have the ability to run tests on your pages to determine colors, terminology, placement and other factors that directly influence user behavior and action.

Accessibility

As part of BGSU's commitment to web accessibility and in accordance with newly updated federal web accessibility policies, our goal is to inform users on the importance of web accessibility, going over topics such as alternative text, non-distinguishable links, subtitles and more.

All CMS users are required to complete the Web Accessibility Training to be granted access or maintain access to AEM.

Website Forms

Adobe Experience Manager provides a simple web form component, with the ability to submit information to an email address, but for more complex forms, using question logic and upload capabilities, the Office of Marketing and Brand Strategy utilizes a few third-party solutions.

These form solutions are owned by our department so our team has to make all of the edits, but we can set up the email notifications and/or reporting so that submitted data is easily accessible to your department.
