Biography
Dr. Maziarz started her health career as a group fitness instructor while studying as an undergraduate at Miami University. Realizing her drive for health extended beyond the gym, Dr. Maziarz pursued a Master’s of Science in Nursing at the University of Toledo, graduating with a MSN and becoming licensed as a Registered Nurse. After several years working in both the hospital and community setting, she finished a Ph.D. in Health Education at the University of Toledo in 2014, which allowed her to fuse her expertise in disease prevention and wellness with her research interests in public health. Before coming to BGSU, she was an Assistant Professor at Lourdes University in the College of Nursing from 2011-2017.

Research Interests
Her research interests include condom access in secondary schools, STD prevention, epistemic explorations of teenage pregnancy, and examining school administrator’s knowledge of evidenced-based health education.
