Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Equity

The College of Health and Human Services at Bowling Green State University is committed to building a college community that is based on justice, equity, empathy, and inclusion. We commit to engaging in direct conversations that honor historical and ongoing experiences and identifying and enacting just and responsive policies and practices that promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging within our college community.

We believe that by creating an environment that values and celebrates the experiences and perspectives of people from various backgrounds, we will help CHHS make meaningful contributions to our community and equip our students to be professionals who advance the public good.

CHHS Committee on Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Equity

The purpose of the Committee on Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Equity (CDIBE) is to promote a welcoming and inclusive college environment, particularly for members of our community with intersecting social and racial identities that have been marginalized in higher education and the health and human service professions.

We recognize that the burden of changing policies and practices in our programs and professions falls on those who hold institutional and social power. The CDIBE is committed to fostering just and equitable practices that promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging within our college community. We welcome dialogue related to practices, policies, and the social and racial climate within the College of Health and Human Services. Feedback will be used to take action that purposefully promote equity and justice. Feedback can be submitted to Jason Whitfield (jawhitf@bgsu.edu).
