BG Edge Nursing Program-Partnership with Mercy College of Ohio
Pre-nursing students at Bowling Green State University now have another pathway to choose from that enables them to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. In addition to applying to the BGSU/University of Toledo’s Nursing Consortium Program, students may apply for early admission to the BG Edge Program at the end of their first semester at BGSU.
“The BG EDGE program is a unique partnership between Bowling Green State University and Mercy College of Ohio,” said Marie Huff, dean of the College of Health and Human Services. “Successful candidates will earn two degrees in four years: a Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Science from BGSU and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mercy College.”
Students accepted into the program are required to have and maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) and earn a B or higher in all required science courses.
This partnership relies on the strong liberal studies and requisite science classes taught at BGSU to adequately prepare students for their nursing classes and clinical rotation at Mercy College,” An added benefit is that students who are admitted to the BG Edge Program no longer have to worry about the admissions’ process and can simply focus on their classes.
The College has also earmarked funding from endowed nursing scholarships to support students who are accepted into the BG Edge Program.
