Supplemental Licensure
An individual can apply for a State of Ohio Career Technical 1-year Supplemental Teaching License if they have been hired by a school district to teach in a career technical subject area and currently hold a resident educator, professional, permanent or five-year advanced career-technical teaching license. The teacher is required to complete 12-15 university credits in career tech teacher preparation. A Career Tech Supplemental License may be renewed two times. To renew an initial supplemental license, at least six of the 12-15 required semester hours of teacher preparation coursework must be completed.
BGSU’s State of Ohio approved program is the only one in Ohio that is available as a 100% online program. The courses in this program can be apply towards a master’s degree program in Curriculum and Teaching. The Curriculum and Teaching program is also a 100% online program.
