HMSLS Graduate Student Grant – provides funding for thesis/project expenses or travel to make a presentation at a professional conference. Application available on HMSLS website.  

Katzner Graduate Student Research and Professional Development - is designed to supplement the costs for graduate student research (project, thesis, or dissertation) and professional development activities. Proposals will be evaluated based upon their ability to promote high quality independent research. Application Deadlines: October and March

Charles E. Shanklin Award for Research Excellence – paper competition in 3 categories (Arts and Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Mathematics and Sciences); monetary awards for 1st and 2nd place in each category.

Shanklin Colloquium – graduate student oral and poster presentations; monetary awards.
