Ascend Program

In Spring 2023 the BGSU Counseling Center launched the Ascend Program. The program is designed for students who need more than traditional outpatient college counseling services can offer. The program is 8 weeks in duration and students are expected to participate in individual sessions, group sessions, meeting with the Student Assistant and Advocacy Specialist (if applicable), and medication prescriber (for at minimum an initial evaluation). The time commitment to the Ascend Program is approximately 4 hours a week. 

Eligibility criteria: 

• Currently enrolled BGSU student
  
• Committed to the time frame of the Ascend Program
• Experiencing acute mental health distress that is impacting one’s ability to function at their best level

Please note, students must complete an initial evaluation and be recommended for the program after meeting with a Counseling Center staff member. Students are only refered into the program by Counseling Center staff.
