Seong Kyoung Shin, Ph.D.
Dr. Seong Kyoung Shin is an Assistant Professor of Marketing. She holds a Ph.D. in marketing from Purdue University. She also earned an MA from Columbia University and Yale University focusing on statistics and management, respectively. Her area of expertise is empirical modeling, marketing analytics, and causal inference, focusing on digital marketing, healthcare marketing, and target marketing.
Before Dr. Shin’s academic career, she worked at Deloitte LLC as a data analytic consultant, participating in multiple projects such as developing a demand forecasting model and devising promotion portfolio/ targeting strategies. She also led research collaboration at Cigna as a data scientist, evaluating targeting performance and investigating the optimal timing of marketing communication.
