Lauren Newmyer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Bowling Green State University. She is a demographer and sociologist whose work focuses on fertility, reproductive and sexual health, and aging, with special emphasis placed on the role social networks play in affecting and reflecting health behaviors. Her research focuses on both U.S. and international contexts. Her current projects examine how contextual and temporal circumstances shape fertility and sexual and reproductive health, romantic partnerships across the life course, and how demographic changes shape population health.
