Florence Ogg (1900-1999)
Mrs. Ogg entered Eastern Illinois State University in June 1919, having achieved the highest score on the entrance examination in the school's history. She majored in astronomy, minored in mathematics, taught some undergraduate classes, and graduated in June 1923.
Mrs. Ogg taught from 1923 to 1925, then entered graduate school in mathematics at the University of Illinois, Champaign, earning her master's degree in 1926. She taught university classes and completed the course work for her doctorate in 1931.
On July 14, 1928; she married Dr. Frank C. Ogg in Neoga, IL. In the summer of 1931, they moved to Bowling Green, where Dr. Ogg taught mathematics at Bowling Green State University until retirement in 1969. Mrs. Ogg taught mathematics for elementary and secondary teachers for several years at BGSU.
