The Department of Geography strongly encourages and supports a large number of student and faculty activities, including professional meeting participation, student field trips, Geography Awareness Week activities, Gamma Theta Upsilon events, and social activities that enhance the collegiality of the Bowling Green Geography family. Much of the funding that supports student activities is drawn from a small account called the “Geography Development Fund.” This fund relies entirely upon the generosity of friends and alumni of the Department of Geography. In addition to the Development Fund, the Department of Geography has several endowments that support scholarships for our Geography majors that you may wish to enhance. These include the Joseph C. and Zola R. Buford Scholarship, Helen and Lyle Fletcher Scholarship, Mohan Shrestha Scholarship, and the Buford-Shappell Scholarships.
