Social Relationships and Well-Being
CFDR Affiliates working in this PRA are conducting exciting work examining how a wide range of social relationships are linked to well-being. Well-being – physical and mental health, along with economic stability and security – is inextricably linked to macro- and micro-level social relationships, as thrown into stark relief by the events of the past few years. How individuals and families experience and relate to their social world is of paramount importance for understanding inequality in well-being. Social relationships include not only peoples’ personal relationships with parents, peers, partners, and children but also their relationships with institutions like health care systems, schools, and the criminal legal system. CFDR affiliates are involved with the Adolescent Academic Context Study.
