Many people work at jobs with irregular hours and variable paychecks. And during the pandemic, unemployment, temporary layoffs, and involuntary part-time schedules increased. Unpredictable job schedules and income lead not only to financial insecurity but can also affect other aspects of individual and family life.  This year's Center for Family and Demographic Research symposium features three well-respected scholars highlighting how employment uncertainty impacts the health and well-being of American families.
