Academic Tutoring

As a TRIO SSS participant, you have the opportunity to meet with peer tutors in person or online. We offer assistance in many subjects, depending on tutor availability.

Mathematics

Student Support Services offers two math courses: MATH 1190S and MATH 1220S.  See our Courses and Workshops page for more details.

All SSS students are welcome to attend any specific designed Math workshops and math walk-in tutoring during the semester.

Student Success Seminar

Student Support Services exclusively offers UNIV 1100, Student Success Seminar, for continuing students that wish to further develop their study skills and habits that lead to academic and life success.  See our Courses and Workshops page for more details.

Writing

As an SSS participant, you're invited to work with our TRIO/SSS peer tutors on essays in your WRIT series and on projects in  any course requiring writing. Our writing staff can provide you with an informed reader response to your work, encouraging you at any stage of your writing process.  

In addition to academic assignments,  you may receive help with scholarship essays, graduate school statements of purpose, and internship and professional school applications. You may choose a workshop or one-to-one meeting to help ensure your writing reflects your ideas in a clear and polished manner.
