Post-9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33)
Servicemen eligible for Chapter 33 but have not yet been approved to receive educational benefits need to complete a Veterans On-Line Application (Form 22-1990) located on the VA.gov site.
Servicemen that have been approved to receive Chapter 33 educational benefits and have received a Certificate of Eligibility, or are transferring to BGSU, need to complete a BGSU VA Intent Form - Military Member.
The Aviation Flight Technology program and courses do not qualify for GI Bill® or VA education benefits. However, many students are eligible for other military education benefits; Please contact Nontraditional and Military Student Services at 419 372-8136 or ntmss@bgsu.edu for further information.
If you served overseas for 30 consecutive or 60 nonconsecutive days, your International Perspective requirement (if your major requires one) can be waived. Submission of a DD214 indicating foreign service dates is required.
A Joint Military Transcript may be ordered on the JST.org site for those who served in the Army, Marines, Navy or Coast Guard. Members of the Air Force may order transcripts on the Air Force website.
If you have received transferred benefits from a service member and have not been approved to receive education benefits, you will need to complete a Veterans On-Line Application (Form 22-1990e) located on the VA.gov site.
Students receiving transferred benefits that have been approved to receive Chapter 33 benefits, or are transferring to BGSU, need to complete a BGSU VA Intent Form - Transferred Benefits.
