The experience that I had as a member of the Thompson Working Family Scholarship program was one that will stay with me forever. Without this program, I would not be where I am today. Going into my second year of college, I was not sure how or if I would be able to afford to return for my second year of school. Receiving the scholarship enabled me to focus on my studies and enjoy my time on the BGSU campus, making and maintaining friendships that will last a lifetime.

Even more importantly, the Thompsons showed me that life is about more than just money and material possessions. It is about giving back and doing something that leaves an impact that will outlive you. That life is about giving back and helping those that need it most.

I hope that I am able to take a portion of what the Thompsons gave to me and pay it back, then pay it forward and inspire others to lead this selfless lifestyle in the essence that the Thompson family has shown to so many people. I will be forever grateful for their charity and sacrifice, as it truly made me who I am today.
