  • Fifteen faculty receive emeritus status May 18, 2016 2:45 PM The Board of Trustees granted emeritus status to 15 retired or retiring faculty members on May 6. Emeritus status is conferred in recognition of distinguished service to the University. Individuals must have been at the University for at least 10 years and been recommended by their department for the designation.

  • Classified Staff Team Award May 18, 2016 2:30 PM Barbara Berta, Mary Busdeker and Marcia Seubert in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics were presented the Classified Staff Team Award on May 18. The team will share a $1,500 award and their names will be displayed on a commemorative plaque in the Bowen-Thompson Student Union.

  • Carver, Strickland honored for selfless leadership, service May 18, 2016 2:00 PM Classified Staff Council presented Outstanding Service Awards to Terry Carver, an administrative secretary in the Division of Recreation and Wellness, and Kim Strickland, a senior fiscal coordinator in the College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering. Each received a $1,000 check and a plaque bearing her name.

Thirteen were promoted to full professor, 15 received promotion to associate professor with tenure.

  • BGHS drama teacher rises to head of the class May 5, 2016 10:26 AM The 2016 Educator of the Year award was presented to Dr. Jo Beth Gonzalez on Monday, May 2 during Teacher Educator Capstone Day. For the past 22 years, she has worked as an educator at Bowling Green High School. In addition to her teaching, she is a published author of multiple books that explore theatre education. The award was presented by Dr. Dawn Shinew, dean of the College of Education and Human Development.

  • BGSU to hold commencement Friday, Saturday May 2, 2016 12:00 AM The University will celebrate its 285th graduation in three ceremonies in the Stroh Center Friday (May 6) and Saturday (May 7). The graduating class includes 2,287 candidates. Speaking will be alumni Maribeth Rahe, Dean Bresciani, Holly Horn, Jason “Jay” Crawford, and D. Craig Rathbun.
