Meet BGSU Language Services Group at open house

BOWLING GREEN, O—Area businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to come learn about how the new Language Services Group at Bowling Green State University can help them connect with global and culturally diverse communities.

The group is holding an open house from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in 203 Shatzel Hall.

The LSG provides translation of legal, business and education documents; interpreting during business negotiations, doctors’ visits and emergency situations; cross-cultural consultation to help workers understand cultural differences, and language classes for adults and children. BGSU is the only university in Ohio with this type of service and offers lower rates than most commercial companies.

Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Russian are among the languages and cultures the service comprises.

BGSU has a long history of providing language services to meet the needs of businesses and individuals. By creating the Language Services Group, the University hopes to reach out to the broader community to share its expertise.
