Young People’s Concert
BOWLING GREEN, O.—Children and their families are invited to take a musical journey through African-American culture and history at “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” The concert begins at 11 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 13) in Bryan Recital Hall of Bowling Green State University’s Moore Musical Arts Center.
Part of BGSU’s Young People’s Concerts series, the 45-minute program by students in the College of Musical Arts will look at the development of African-American music starting from slavery and progressing through church music, the jazz era, music of the civil rights movement and Motown.
Admission is $1 for children and $2 for adults. Tickets will be available at the door beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Young People’s Concerts are recommended for children ages 5 and up, but younger music fans are welcome. For more information, call the Moore Center box office at 419-372-8171 or 800-589-2224.
