Music Technology Assistantships
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of digital and analog studio techniques
- Computing skills
- Background as a composer
Typical Duties
- Assist with class preparation
- Assist in grading and record keeping
- Tutor students and run help sessions
- Occasionally teach class and proctor exams
- Assist in the Music Technology and Recording Studios
- Assist with studio upkeep (hardware, software, other equipment)
- Assist with technology-related concert preparation
Work Schedule
- Attend class sessions with professor
- Hold twice-weekly tutorial sessions/office hours
- Perform weekly maintenance on Music Technology Studios
- Monitor use of Music Technology and Recording Studios
- Other duties as requested by Music Technology Coordinator
Special Requirements
- Knowledge of audio techniques, experience using digital audio software, and experience with live sound audio equipment configuration/setup required
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software maintenance is a plus
- Second-year continuation not mandatory, but preferred
Selection Requirements
- Interview with chair of the Department of Musicology/Composition/Theory and with the Music Technology Coordinator

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in music
- Unconditional admission to the Graduate College
- A campus interview/audition
