CMA Alumna Jane Hines wins SMT Publication Award

CMA alumna Jane Hines (MM Music History and MM Music Theory, 2015) was recently awarded the Society for Music Theory's Citation of Special Merit publication award for her translation of Friedrich Wilhelm Marpurg's treatise, *Abhandlung von der Fuge* (*Treatise on Fugue*), 1753, from the original German. The treatise is in two volumes, and Hine's translation will allow English-speaking scholars much easier access to this important primary source in eighteenth-century compositional theory. The work is published by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute and is available online at the following link. Hines shares the award with Dr. Derek Remeš, who edited the translation.
