Mary Borus is a sophomore Music Performance major from Shelby Township, Michigan, currently studying with Dr. John Sampen. Having studied the saxophone for 10 years, she has earned a great deal of musical experience. Mary’s recent accomplishments include winning the North Oakland Concert Band Concerto Competition, the Toledo Symphony League Young Artist Competition, the Royal Oak Symphony Young Artist Competition, and the Betty J. Hixson Woodwinds Award Competition. She is also a member of the Bowling Green State University Wind Symphony. Outside of her performance studies, she is a section leader in the Bowling Green State University Falcon Marching Band and Athletic Band and works as a Band Librarian and Music Ambassador for the College of Musical Arts. Additionally, she is the service chair of the Gamma Omicron chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota Professional Womens Music Fraternity.

Mary is very thankful to all who supported her in her preparations for this competition and this performance! She is very excited to perform with the BGSU Philharmonia and is thankful for this great opportunity!

Shannon Lotti is a second-year DMA in Contemporary Music student at Bowling Green State University studying under Dr. Terri Sánchez. She is currently an active flute teacher as well as a solo and orchestral performer. Shannon performs as a member of Duo Aequalis, a flute and piano duo and Spectra Trio, a flute, cello, and piano trio. She is a first prize winner in the 2022 South Carolina Flute Society Young Artist Competition and 2023 Central Ohio Flute Association Competition as well as a quarterfinalist in the 2023 National Flute Association Young Artist Competition. Brazilian pianist Isabella Brill began her piano studies at the age of 6 and has been an active performer since 2016, when she joined the Preparatory School for young musicians at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil. Under the tutelage of Dr. Cristina Capparelli Gerling in the following years,Isabella soon garnered honors in national and international competitions, among them the First Prize and Best Interpretation of a Brazilian Work in the Cora Pavan Capparelli Competition in 2017 and 2019, and the Edna Bassetti Piano Competition. In Fall 2022, Isabella accepted the College of Musical Arts Hansen Fellowship, the highest honor awarded to two incoming freshmen each year, and started her undergraduate studies at BGSU with Dr. Solungga Liu.

Isabella enjoys participating in music festivals and has worked with some the most representative pianists of our time, including Anna Fedorova, Michael Gurt, David Koreevar, and Victor Rosenbaum. Isabella speaks four languages and is a wonderful ballet dancer.

Originally from Rhodes, Greece, 23-year-old Apostolos-Angelos Konstantakis is a prize-winning pianist across Greece, Europe and the U.S. His accolades include first prizes at the 5th Greek National Piano Competition of the Thessaloniki Piano Festival, and the 30^th Greek National Piano Competition of the Young Orchestra Choir “XON” Organization. He has also been announced as a winner of the Bowling Green State University Concerto Competition, in 2023.

Konstantakis has given multiple concerts at venues including the Athens Concert Hall, Palace of the Grand Master of Rhodes, as well as in many places including Xanthi, Florina, Germany, etc. He participated in music festivals including the Rhodes International Piano Forum & Rhodes Art International Music Festival, and the International Festival of Symi. In addition, Konstantakis has participated in piano seminars with Hideyo Harada, Claudio Curro Dossi, and Solungga Liu, as well as piano accompanying seminars with Andreas Reibenspies.

In 2023, he received tuition and the Patricia Smith scholarships from Bowling Green State University, where he is a current graduate student and Accompanying Assistant in Piano Performance, under Dr. Solungga Liu. Konstantakis started piano lessons at the age of five and graduated from the Dodecanese Music School of Art with a piano diploma, receiving unanimous excellent marks and first prize recognition for performance and virtuosity. He also graduated from the Ionian University, Corfu, Greece, (BM and Integrated MM) in Piano Performance, under the direction of Prof. Lambis Vassiliadis.
