The NW Ohio Low Brass Collective is a non-profit organization founded by Tyler Ferris in 2023. Their main goals are to provide educational resources to high school low brass students, provide quality music for the community, and promote a sense of camaraderie for all low brass players.
Membership in the group is volunteer-based with no fee to be a part of it. Also, all concerts are free to the public. The NW Ohio Low Brass Collective believes in removing barriers both to making music and enjoying it.
The Texas Tech University Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble has existed in various incarnations since the late 1960's, with ensembles formed under professor of tuba and euphonium David Payne for what later became annual "Groundhog Day" concerts. The ensemble re-formed as a large performing group under the direction of Kevin Wass in 2002. Since that time, the ensemble has performed at the International Tuba Euphonium Conferences in Denver, Cincinnati, Tucson, Bloomington, Knoxville, Iowa City, Tempe, and Linz, Austria, as well as the 2021 Virtual Tuba Euphonium Conference and nine regional ITEA conferences. Other appearances include the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention in San Antonio, the TTU School of Music "Sound Encounters" and “Ignite!” concerts, the TTU Relay for Life, the TTU College of Visual and Performing Arts "Christmas in November" event, and the “Plainview Symphony Presents” series.
