Nick McDermott is a DMA student in euphonium performance at the University of Cincinnati – College Conservatory of Music. A Wisconsin native, he holds a master's degree in trombone and euphonium performance from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and a bachelor’s in instrumental music education from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville. Prior to his doctorate at CCM, Nick was a United States Army Musician, and served as a member of “Fort Sam’s Own” 323rd Army Band at Fort Sam Houston, TX, and as a member of the 10th Mountain Division Band at Fort Drum, NY. Outside his doctoral work, Nick is an active composer and arranger, and freelances in the Cincinnati area.
